Why I support creating the new state of Jefferson.

This map shows those counties in Northern California which have expressed a desire  to create a new State. SoJ map_CA_1.2.16_color_legend

Mainstream media has been trying to foist the notion that those persons who want to create a new State out of parts of California and Oregon are gun toting rednecks who don’t have an intelligent bone in their body.

Don’t be fooled.

This nose in the air disdain for us normal people is the same type of crap the media originally used to write off Bernie and the Donald before we showed the media it doesn’t matter to us.

Republicans and democrats scoff at the notion that California should be divided into two because they don’t want any disruption of their monopoly on power.

But that monopoly must end.

And we need new governmental entities which will support those constitutional principles the two party system has sacrificed over and over again for their own good and greed.

I support the formation of the State of Jefferson because our federal government is not working for the people, i.e. us, in the ways our founders intended.

Many have forgotten that our founders created a federal system of government so that we, the people, would be better protected from that type of abuse of power which is now rampant in the empire.

The idea was that multiple republican governments inside one nation would protect the people. The goal was that each government would endeavor to protect their citizens’ liberties. But this intention has been bastardised into an empire that funnels resources from the poor and middle class to the already wealthy.

Thomas Jefferson explained what was supposed to happen in our country under our federal system of government. He wrote:

Declaration of independence

“The way to have good and safe government is not to trust it all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to every one exactly the functions he is competent to . . . . It is by dividing and

subdividing these republics from the great national one down through all its subordinations, until it ends in the administration of every man’s farm by himself; by placing under every one what his own eye may superintend, that all will be done for the best . . .. The elementary republics of the wards, the county republics, the State republics, and the republic of the Union, would form a gradation of authorities, standing each on the basis of law, holding every one its delegated share of powers, and constituting truly a system of fundamental balances and checks for the government.”

Jefferson’s views were shared by other prominent founders. Madison also supported division of power between national, state, and municipal governments to check abuses of governmental power by all governments. According to Madison “[i]n the compound republic of America a double security arises to the rights of the people.” According to Madison, “[t]he different governments will controul each other, at the same time that each will be controuled by itself.” The Federalist Paper 51.

Alexander Hamilton predicted that dual sovereignty would keep both the state and federal government in check. He noted that, “Power being almost always the rival of power, the general government will at all times stand ready to check the usurpations of the state governments, and these [state governments] will have the same disposition towards the general government.” Id. at 179. Hamilton wrote further and said that “[i]t may safely be received as an axiom in our political system that the state governments will, in all possible contingencies, afford complete security against invasions of the public liberty by the national authority.” See The Federalist No. 28.

In today’s empire federal, state, and municipal governments seem more like rogue cops all simultaneously kicking us when we are down, rather than entities which were intended to protect us and our rights. Indeed, it seems like every government from municipal to State to National just wants to tax and control us.

The State of Jefferson is being founded upon those principles of the Constitution that republicans and democrats have forsaken. This is an endeavor we should all support because if it works as its leaders intend creating new States, which actually provide representation of real people and their local communities may help us take our country back.

So YES, I agree…

If you agree the time has come to create a State where the people truly have a say, then sign this petition.

Let’s get back to our founder’s great ideas as expressed in our Constitution and get rid of the two party tyranny which created this corrupt empire out of a once great nation.

About Scott . Stafne

Mr. Stafne is very experienced in property rights, including banking wrongs and foreclosure prevention; Constitutional Law (under the United States and Washington State Constitution); Appellate law; land use law; personal injury law. Scott has recently become a media focal point as his win record of foreclosure defense cases against the largest financial institutions, servicers, trustees as well as MERS have blazed the trail toward ending the foreclosure crisis and representing the rights of the homeowner above the profits and secret dealings of corporations.   Scott sees law as a foundation for establishing a system of twenty first century liberties for the people; and for removing that corruption of power within our government which makes the achievement of real purpose beholden to only money.   Scott Stafne has been an attorney since graduating from the University of Iowa in 1974. He worked for a large law firm in Indianapolis (Baker & Daniels) for two years. Thereafter, he moved to Seattle Washington in order to obtain a Masters of Law degree from the University of Washington, which he obtained in 1977. Scott practiced law while going to graduate school and has practiced ever since.   This is a personal blog, and does not constitute legal advice in any form, and is not necessarily reflective of the policies or opinions of Stafne Law Firm.
